I like Newt being slow & patient with GG in Mirror!verse, but I think he would never call him a pet or stupid, even if GG had become. He probably would treat him as one. Washing him & petting him & feeding him. Taking him into his lap and letting have a peaceful sleep when he becomes to uneasy and exhausted. But never calling him pet, always just simple Gellert. No minor names and humiliation, only little tasks and praises, he must make GG better for GG’s own good, and he will.

To be honest humiliation and pet names are two big kinks for me, so in the end I’ll probably be biased towards them.  That said, I love this interpretation too – more subtle, so that you could almost mistake mirror!Newt for his canon-verse counterpart if you didn’t look too closely.  He’s still kind, patient, gentle, never raising a hand against any creature under his care… but he treats Gellert with that same dehumanizing compassion, refusing to so much as mock him as he would a real opponent.  Gellert isn’t a real opponent to him, not anymore.  He’s just another hapless creature Newt needs to protect.

Not sure if you’re still taking suggestions for the kinktober continuations, but if you are, please do the uniform kink one with Thesueus all dressed up, role-playing a strict officer but actually being so in love with his naked Percival. Thank you for reading and have a good day!

Ooh I’m so glad you like that one!  I feel like Theseus is devoted to Percival in that one, feeding off how much Percival loves their game.  Theseus adores when Percival gets that flush in his cheeks, when he starts to stutter and stumble over his words, soft like putty in Theseus’ strong hands and loving every second of it.

I remember in Interview with a Vampire it was implied, if not outright confirmed, that Lestat used Claudia to keep Louis with him.

So imagine Gellert doing that with Credence and Dumbledore.

Dumbledore wants to destroy the blood pact and leave Gellert, so Gellert shows up with Credence.

“His magic is too powerful and unstable, Albus. We are the only ones strong enough to teach him. He needs our guidance, Albus. Surely you would not leave this poor child out in the cold?”

And Albus stays for Credence. He stays to help Credence learn control and to hone his magic.

But mostly… he stays because he fears what kind of path Credence would go down if he had no one but Gellert for a mentor.

I had thought of this parallel with a Graves situation, but it works so well for Dumbledore. Love it.

Love the thought on Dumbledore/Young Newt. And if Newt realizes what happened later and write home seeking guidance about it, he is shocked when his parents are thrilled that he caught the eye of such a powerful and influential wizard. Their fuck up of an awkward son might actually bring them honor this way! Newt was expecting to be comforted, but now his pressured into maintaining contact with dumbledore which he doesn’t really want mostly cause his not totally clear on what happened…

Poor Newt, I love this.  I could see it as them not realizing what happened because Newt doesn’t understand and struggles to articulate it, or having a good idea but  seeing it more as an opportunity than a problem.  Either way Newt is stuck, and I bet if he told anyone else at school they’d tell him he was lucky – everyone has a crush on Professor Dumbledore, it’s a fantasy come to life!

I also love the idea of Newt not knowing how to feel about it.  On the one hand it makes him feel weird not to know what happened nor understand why, and he feels like what he thinks happened probably shouldn’t have and he can’t really explain why?  But on the other hand he remembers how insanely good it felt, how safe and wanted he felt while it was happening, and not only did he not say no but he actively wanted it to keep going.  And some part of him wants to feel like that again, even though it makes him uncomfortable to think about.

Basically, vulnerable and confused Newt without the experience or support system he needs who just keeps getting pulled further and further in by Dumbledore, who’s all too good at recognizing his situation

You ever think about male omegas as biological sneaks? I may be looking to far into reality for this, but in the real world (sadly not primates…)species where male can mimic female (right down to scent/function but can still sire children) it upends social structure pretty massively. In fic they’re usually just stand-ins for women, but I think in reality they’d be treated very aggressively, acceptable targets by alpha males.

Oooooh please, please tell me more about this!  I think I read a meta along these lines a while ago?  But I’m so intrigued and want to know more.  One of the great things about a/b/o imo is that it can be taken in so many different directions, some of them hot, some of them thought provoking, and some both.  Tell me more about upended social structures because I am all about a/b/o world building, and “acceptable targets” definitely sounds interesting.  I want to know more!

Any inspiration for touch-starved Theseus and alpha!Newt/omega!Theseusalpha!Leta?

Ooooh well there is now!  Maybe Theseus has always had something to prove?  He’s an omega, yeah, but that doesn’t mean he’s soft.  He always keeps himself just a little distant from other people, afraid to look like he’s weak, even though he’s fucking miserable and okay, maybe it would be nice to just… let go with someone.  But he can’t.

Until Leta and Newt notice, and decide to show him just how much he needs it.  Which is a lot.

Just saw the new fantastic beasts; Jude Law must now be banned for making Dumbledore so damned attractive. Its not allowed. (did any one get any Young!Newt/TeacherAlbus inspiration? Dumbledore always seemd very morally ambigious to me–he wanted what Gellert wanted right up until it threatend his own family. He changed later, but only because he felt guilty?)

Ooooh boy.  Idk about Dumbledore’s morality in canon, but I can totally see a dark!AU in which he takes advantage of young Newt.  Invites him to his office for tea one day maybe, and Newt is overwhelmed by the offer.  The whole school has a crush on him, and Newt is no exception.  They talk for a while, but Newt starts to feel drowsy and he doesn’t quite remember how he ended up in Professor Dumbledore’s lap?  But there are hands roaming over him, lips and the scratch of a beard against his cheek, and he feels really good.  He nuzzles in against Dumbledore’s shoulder and lets himself be swept away.

I love your idea of Graves and Grindelwald working together to break Credence down, especially if one of them is kinder and one is more brutal. But I guess that’s kind of the whole plot of Cruel World… any ideas for that one? Can’t wait to read more!!

I suppose it is lol. I can imagine a tcog version where Credence isn’t a prisoner and is actually seduced into joining the cause through the manipulations of Gellert + Graves, but yeah, I guess I just love that premise 😀

As for Cruel World, oh boy, I have so many ideas. I have character arcs and plot points. It’s gonna be great. I don’t want to spoil too much, but Graves’ current direction will continue (though in some unorthodox ways), Gellert will find he’s not satisfied with certain things (and start take some action on it), and Credence will have some hard choices to make (which is saying a lot, considering he isn’t usually allowed any choices at all).

In the immediate future the fic I was brainstorming with an anon a few weeks back is probably the installment I’ll write next, but be assured I have big plans for this series.

And I mean, as much as I say I don’t want to spoil it, I’m also itching to talk about it so gah writer’s dilemma :’)

What do you think about omega!Theseus or submissive!Theseus after watching second movie? Do you have any interest in continuing kink prompt with him and Grindelwald? In the movie Theuseus looks more like soft and sweet cookie than auror, determined and extremely emotional, but still… Soft. What is your opinion about him? Possible interaction with Grindelwald in your fiction?

I don’t know tbh. Theseus in the movie was just so smol and soft like what?? The actor did a fine job, but not how I picture him tbh. He looked so out of place next to the other three ministry men in Newt’s hearing.

That said, I definitely intend to continue the thesewald kinktober ficlet, and I could definitely see writing more with that pairing.

I can absolutely see movie!Theseus as a sweet, soft omega, but I’m not sure how that meshes with my vision of fanon!Theseus yet? Definitely not opposed to it on priciple and certainly wouldn’t mind reading it, but not sure about writing it. I could probably be persuaded by the right prompt though. Imagine if Theseus and Newt were both omegas… I’m sure there are quite a few alphas who would love to own that pair. I actually like that quite a bit… XD
